Purple Skies

Purple skies await me

As myself I give to you

No longer to be free

No longer to be true

But my beauty they envy

And my presence they seek

And though my burdens plenty

I compensate with sleep

But purple dreams, they wake me

To realities unkind

My friends, they forsake me

My only friend is my mind

But these passing earthly pleasures

I hold onto them so dearly

But with these passing earthy treasures

I am unable able to see clearly

But though my end is near

My inevitable demise

I feel so safe here

Beneath these purple skies

I like how you chose purple. Purple can be so ambigouse; I feel like there is so many different ways you can interpret the poem

That’s why I make my writing a bit vague at times. I like to give my readers freedom, to allow them to not fixate on just one idea.
