M.E.

I sit and stare, both envious and proud

As I watch them take their places

While watchful eyes sit in a crowd

Smiles painted on their brightly lit faces

And when my time comes

I do not pause

But dilute screams to hums

Drinking in the applause

And this I call progress

But when they capture my brain

I know that I’ll regress

And the sunshine will turn to rain

But my strength I know now

That I needn’t to run again

For to these thoughts, I will not bow

But fight until the end
