I Dare You: The Speak Up Challenge

It’s easier to stay quiet than to speak up.

It is always tempting to see injustice and let it slide so as to not complicate our own lives. Many of us wish to slip through life while avoiding as much trouble as possible. We want to live the simplest lives possible, having enough trouble to deal with on our own.

Today, I want to challenge you.

Though many measures have been put in place to tackle bullying in school, today, I invite you to speak up. Whether it be in school or the workplace, I challenge you to tackle bullying by bringing the issue to light.

There are many ways to speak up. If you are brave enough, you could grab the opportunity to speak up against bullying as you see fit. However, if you are more careful, you could report the issue to someone who has been appointed to deal with those issues. You could also form a group of passionate, like-minded individuals to bring awareness to someone in authority.

As you can see, there are many ways to speak up. It all depends on you. However, I advise you to be careful when reporting these matters. Do not let anger override good judgment. This is a sensitive issue.

This is my first challenge for you all. Let’s make a difference. Good luck.
